We’re starting off The Deep List by talking to Lyvia Martinez about her debut, OUR LAST FALL, which is out by Bywater Books on 8th September this year.
Amrita’ Notes: I fell in love with Our Last Fall’s premise when I read the publisher’s blurb. Lyvia touches upon how she tried to hit a balance between grief, heartbreak, fun, adventure and growing pains in this coming-of-age tale and the struggles of writing an ensemble cast. She also talks of her background in screenwriting and how it helped her adapt to writing a novel, and how her history of growing up in a religious family and how she reckoned with her identity will be the subject of her next book.
